Autobiography

The life and times...

Taylor Barr

Where I Started…

I grew up in Stone Mountain, GA- east of the biggest city in the Southeast.  With a stones throw from Atlanta, my eyes were attuned to several great environmental factors: a diverse cultural landscape, vibrant music scene, and the worse traffic in the world. It was great and definitely shaped who I am today. I will say that much of my childhood can be credited to my supportive family (obligatory “shout-out-to-family-members-on-social-networks” here and here. They may hate me for that).

I moved from Georgia to North Carolina, not to get away from the traffic , but to attend college and study Business Management. Still learning, growing, and breaking boundaries here and there- I currently reside in Durham, in the Tar Heel State.

Where I am…

My Passion: I like to get things done (The Project Manager in me says this) but really I love to create, design and and be involved in events or projects that move technology forward. I strongly believe my passion has taken me to great places (and I am so very thankful); being able to attend events like TechCrunch50 as an exclusive video blogger as well as participating in Europe’ largest technology conference, LeWeb.

My Career: I work as a Product Marketing Manager for iContact- a leading provider of SaaS email marketing services. I do alot of things. I manage projects for our Marketing team, analyze our product marketing needs, and supply creative direction with killer content. Oh,  and I also get to hang out with customers and see what they do. My Projects/Consulting: Another passion of mine is to help small to mid-sized businesses dominate online. My main focus is on internet marketing, SEO, and Social Media (with heavy focus on metrics).  I have helped all types of businesses, from local brewery to law firm, achieve high quality return on their investment. If that is your cup of tea, get more information about my consulting here.

In 2009, I was selected out of 4500 applicants to be a “Fiesta Agent” in Ford’s Fiesta Movement. What does that mean? I received a free 2010 Ford Fiesta as well as free gas and free insurance to blog, shoot video, and tweet about for 6 months. One note, the car was Green. Hot Green. You couldn’t miss me if you tried. Here is a picture of me and the sexy “whip” for proof:

Where I will go…

You know what? I don’t know what that will look like. Therefore, I am going to choose this spot to include things that you might want to know about me. MurphDogYes- this may be trivial. Yes, you may not care. That is why I have included a picture of my dog below for your, “awww” moment.
